Previously on GZSZ…we had a very action packed and emotional episode with Tuner lying in hospital fading away, while the Scooby gang all ran around like headless chooks trying to locate the doctor to do the heart transplant for him. Lucky for him (and us) they were successful and now he’s going to LIVE YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! In the meantime, Anni wrote a song for Tuner, which everyone now has stuck in their heads (thanks a lot Uli Beck!) and has made Jasmin fall *just* that much more in love with Anni.

OK so Tunasammich is gonna be fine and has his new heart YAY! I know it was kind of an emotional(ish) storyline, but can I just be the first to raise my hand and say PHEW so glad that’s over?

So we open on the partial Scooby gang on the subway going home. Nele is expressing how relieved she is, while Anni & Mesut reassure her that everything IS fine with Tunie now and she can take a chill pill. At this point, the exhausted Anni, takes her own song advice, “so lay your head on my shoulder” and puts it on Jasmin’s.

As they snuggle into each other, I snuggle into my cat and AWWW away. In the silence, Mesut starts humming a familiar tune and I love the way Anni’s eyes open and Jasmin gets a tiny smirk on her face. Mesut is of course humming Anni’s new song “Home”. Anni tells Mesut “Ha ha”, but he plays all innocent and asks her “what?”. Anni just stares at him while Jasmin tells him that that’s Anni’s song. He seems surprised and Nele bolts up and tells them that she can’t get it out of HER head either. Both Anni and Jasmin half laugh at this and Mesut and Nele BOTH start humming the song, even louder. And while Jasmin is beaming away, super proud of Anni, Anni tells them to SHUSH.

Mesut tells Anni that it’s not really his style but that it’s SUPER catchy. And judging by Anni’s duck lips, I don’t think she believes him. He goes on to tell her that she needs a label cos she could make a ton of money from it and offers to make her a star. Anni laughs and tells him that before she becomes a star, she will become a microbiologist. He tells her that he knows what he’s talking about and Nele jumps in that she would totes download it right away too. Anni just shakes her head and tells them that all she did was write a song and that’s it.

Wow give yourself some credit there Anni, not all of us can JUST write a song like that….or at all….

BTW I love the way that Jasmin is looking at Anni here…at first serious but then the corner of her lip turns into the cutest little smile ever. Mesut tells Anni that she should just go become a microbiologist then as he continues to hum her song loudly. Anni looks away, shaking her head while Jasmin keeps on looking at her with that look that makes me melt.

Cut to a bit later on and Anni and Jasmin are walking down the stairs at the MW. Jasmin exclaims that she’s never wanted to party as much as she does right now. And Anni tells her that they are going to party SO hard tonight that even Tuner will feel the bass in the hospital. Umm girls, I need a party too, pick me up on the way, OK?

AND MY GOD! Anni’s outfit here…*cough* almost choked on my jack and coke tea. Black jeans, grey tshirt and black leather vest. MY GOD!

Umm where was I? Yes…coming down the stairs. As Anni passes the tech guys, she asks them if they are cool to do a sound check in an hour. Jasmin looks up at Anni and tells her how hot she looks up on stage. Jasmin! Just what I was thinking too! SUPER HOT! *cough*

I really should have that cough checked out huh?

Smooth Anni replies with one of the smoothest lines ever, and says “Wait til we get home. It’s gonna get really hot”.

Um OK then, wow. Cold shower anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

Jasmin teases her by telling her that all her groupies would shower her with teddy bears and bras, to which Anni replies “I’m past the teddy bear age, and women who need bras…” and then shudders. After they both laugh, Jasmin becomes a little more serious and asks Anni since when has she become so uptight about her songs. She brings up the time Anni was on stage with Kurt and she ran off. Anni shakes her head and tells her that no, that was on account of Jasmin and that a duet with her man would have just been too much for her. Not to mention, it was a love song she originally wrote about Jasmin *cough*. To this, Jasmin replies “I see! So you’re saying that you were already in love with me back then?”

YES JASMIN YES SHE WAS!!!! I love how that’s what Jasmin takes out of all this. I wish they would talk about all this a little more instead of just in passing like this, because it’s super cute..and WE WANT TO SEE JASMIN’S REACTIONS!

Anni tells her to DREAM ON, and Jasmin smacks her with her dish cloth. At this point Anni deflects the conversation and tries to escape. She asks some bar guy to get Jasmin off her back…COME ON ANNI! Why those words would ever come out of anyone’s mouth is beyond me…unless the words “get Jasmin off” are used in another context, if you know what I mean *wink* OHHH COME ON! You know all our minds live in the gutter already…

Jasmin looks back at Anni all fake offended and yells at her that she just thinks that Mesut is right, that she has talent and she should put it to use. But Anni tells her that she only likes to play for herself and she’s the one who makes sure that OTHERS can perform. Jasmin admits defeat in this round and walks off shaking her head but still grinning away.

BTW how have I never noticed the GIANT poster hanging behind Anni here of Jasmin being a model?! HOT! *cough* Also take a second to appreciate Anni’s HOT outfit here.

As Anni stands in a Jasmin sandwich, she thinks about what Jasmin just said to her and she becomes a little more serious. You can see that this is an issue to her, and we’re about to find out why. We suddenly flashback to teenage Anni (who looks remarkably the same age as now *wink*) and she’s sitting in her bedroom playing her guitar. We can hear her father telling her that playing the guitar is a nice hobby, but that she should be happy if she can get a job with Bodo (family friend?). And after Anni tells him that she wants to be a singer, he tells her that many musicians live on the street or drive a cab (gasp, not a cab! That surely IS the lowest you can go, apparently) and that they’re all a thousand times better than her. OUCH.

Wow, I’ve never been told that before ever….nope…not one single time *ahem* Just keep living your dreams people, screw when other people try to tell you what you can and can’t do!

But I’m super glad we finally got another flashback of Anni. We would like more please. But teeny tiny side note to the writers, if you want to keep adding to Anni’s back story, just try to keep it making sense. So far, it’s been quite messy…but LOVE YOUR WORK, carry on

As Anni comes out of her flashback haze she looks over at Jasmin, who is still smiling away at her and they share YET ANOTHER amazing look between them.

I love how Anni is instantly cheered up just from seeing Jasmin. I mean who wouldn’t…just look at that face!!!

Cut to a tad later and Anni heads to the stage to check the equipment before the show. She thanks the tech guys as they leave and one of the other waitresses tells her they are all going out for kebabs. Jasmin asks Anni if she’s coming too but Anni tells her she needs to stay to finish up. Jasmin then mentions that it’s Johanna’s 8th birthday and that she is celebrating on a horse farm with her friends and Katrin. Why do we need to know this? I guess it’s so the folks watching at home can find out where Katrin is…and that she’s not quite out of the picture yet. And as Jasmin asks Anni if she wants anything, we get this super sweet kiss;

Jasmin leaves and Anni puts on a guitar to check it and as she does, she starts to look around and imagine the sounds of a crowd and the feelings of being up on stage. She checks to see if anyone is around and once she’s sure there is no one around, starts to sing her song “Home”. What a beautiful song! And Linda does an amazing job singing it. A little into the song we see Jasmin who has come back and is now staring lovingly up at Anni, who hasn’t noticed her yet. Jasmin screams out and fan-girls for a second, as she tells Anni that she knew she had it in her. Anni immediately stops playing and takes the guitar off as Jasmin tells her how amazing she was and asks if she should take her bra off now. BWAHAHA!. Umm yes? Anni bashfully shakes her head…awww Anni stop ruining all our fun! Anni is then treated to a million kisses from Jasmin, that lucky son of a gun!

Jasmin tells her that she loves her EVEN MORE now (is that even possible?) and Anni replies that maybe she WILL sing more often from now on! Yes, you should! And we would like to see both the singing, and the rewards from Jasmin #KTHANKSBYE.

Cut to later that night. We’re still at the MW and Tayfun introduces the musical act from Belgium, Milow (who I have to admit, I’ve never heard of but their music sounds pretty rad). We see Nele gettin’ down with her flowery bad-assed self in the crowd…she always cracks me up when I see her dancing. Such adorkableness (yup just made that word up). While he’s singing, Jasmin spots Sophie in the crowd and goes over to her, asking her where Jo is. He is working. Of course he is. Sophie mentions that the sound is great and Jasmin replies “Of course, with my girlfriend doing the sound”. Awwww Jasmin, you’re sweeter than honey.

Jasmin then makes her way through the crowd to Anni with two glasses of, I’m assuming prosecco. I love how whenever they are working together Jasmin ALWAYS brings drinks over to Anni.

And as they stand there watching the gig, Jasmin looks at Anni and tells her that one day she’ll be the one standing up there. Aw Jasmin, come on now, you’re melting my heart with this episode! Anni tells her NO THANKS. They then turn to each other, laugh and shake their heads as Jasmin jokingly pushes Anni and leaves.

But we can see all of this is making Anni think about it, from the look on her face and her little sigh.

A bit later we see Nele get her phone out of her cute little “I love Berlin” tote bag and call Tuner in the hospital. She holds up the phone so he can hear too….awwww. I love the way she just giggles away to herself here.

Back at the sound desk both Anni and Jasmin are dreamily watching the performance, Jasmin even has her eyes closed (probably imagining Anni up there).

God how dreamy is Jasmin with her eyes closed?

Mmm yeah so anyways…Anni tells Jasmin how cool she thinks Milow is because he just goes up on stage with his guitar, does his thing and gives everyone goosebumps. At this, Jasmin turns to Anni, who still has her eyes fixated on the stage and gives her the most adorable, loving look.

Anni notices and turns to her and asks “what?” and Jasmin replies with “nothing”. And after a second Anni admits that it IS awesome when you touch people with your own music. The loving look Jasmin gives again and the fake annoyed face that Anni gives back is one of the reasons this whole storyline is so different to anything else I’ve ever watched. Pure and utter chemistry. Make a note of it people, you don’t see it all that often but when you do, it’s magic.
